Welcome to the learning resources section of Children on the Move.
These resouces have been specifically designed for use by schools and give pupils the opportunity to learn about World War II evacuation from the people who actually experienced it.
They focus on Key Stage 2 History and Citizenship and have cross curricular elements. The resouces could also be adapted for other Key Stages.
To download or view the lessons and activities please click here where you will find a series of lessons, activities, accompanying historical sources for use with the lessons and transcripts of the oral history extracts. There are also two case studies for further study on this website.
Each contributor has their own page on this website where we have included summaries, audio clips (with transcripts) and photographs to help us tell their story. You can view these by clicking here.
You can also read extracts from Staffordshire newspapers which give us a completely different view of evacuation to this county here.
